Best Guns for Women

Maybe it'll start a discussion or maybe make folks upset, why are small 3.5-2.5in barrel pistols advertised for women so much? I've owned a kahr cm9, cw9, and a st9. My wife and her lady friends have all shot them. The st9 has a 4in barrel, longer sight radius and a longer recoil spring which tends to be softer so it's less snappy, all the women could chamber it easier then the cm9/cw9. I've been to the range years ago with an old xd9mm service model {4in, 16rds} my lady could shoot a box of 500rds outta it to train, but with the snappy recoil and stiff recoil spring/slide of the small cm9 pistol she'd get maybe 50/75rds. I'd think that the pistol that allowed more training and rounds down range would equate to the better pistol to have.

Will it fit in her purse? is not the most important question to determine "the best gun for a woman".

These are the more important questions:
Does the grip fit her hand?
Can she rack the slide, reach the trigger, safety, mag release, etc.?
It it large and heavy enough that it provides a stable firing platform and helps her to hit her target?
Is it a serious enough caliber to be useful for her intended purposes, yet with a controllable recoil?

It depends on the women’s age range and what type of clothing they like to wear.

Most women I know aren’t going to carry anything similar in size to the Glock 19 because it’d be harder to conceal in tighter fitting clothing.

*EDIT* I should have typed “women’s body type”. Age doesn’t have anything to do with it.

My GF started with smaller guns S&W shield, Walther PPS because the larger frame guns were perceived to be too big and scary until she picked up my Glock 19 and Canik TP9. Now she prefers the larger frames because they're not as snappy and easier to aim because of the longer sight radius.

I can conceal a glock 19... it just took a while to figure out what was comfortable.. but you're right, most won't want to...

I know plenty of guys that swear up and down they carry a full size everyday , yet most of the time they either don't carry or carry a micro compact.
The smallest I am comfortable carrying ( as to be able to make the hits I need to ) is a Sig 365xl or Ruger SP101.

Only time I havent carried concealed in the past 27 years or so is when I traveled for work.

And by the way, as a woman who shoots, I think this list of guns is horrible for women... Who wrote it??? Someone who didn't research what a woman should actually shoot and picked them purely based on size...
Any of these lists are just marketing tools. The headline simply grabs the attention of the target demographic. The list is just stuff that people paid to have the author shill for them.
No actual research or polling goes into them.
