Default Speed sensor

Thanks, Bob
Sounds like you have a short somewhere in the sensor circuit, or something is leaking a lot of fluid on it. We have had 3 jeeps, my first was a 90 4X4 Comanche pickup that a buddy of mine in CA is still driving. It has about 325,000 miles on it with no major repairs. Original trans and engine has never had the head off. 4 liter, straight 6 cylinder, cast iron. Great truck. My 2001 4X4 Cherokee had problems with the speed sensor as well. Mine just were out of spec, only had to replace them on both trucks once. Yours sounds like something is shorting it out. They after all are just electric sensors. The speed sensor uses the flywheel as it's reference. I think its actually called a crankshaft speed sensor or position sensor. I've heard that if it doesn't test bad that just unplugging it and plugging it back in can get it working again. But my Cherokee has 240,00 miles on it and still runs great. My wife has a 2004 Wrangler Rubicon and we have never had any problems with it at all.

I forgot one thing mine was temperature sensitive. When it was cold my engine would not start. But when it got warmer out around noonish it would fire up.

Well its good to know there are some decent cetme's. I had a lemon that was the biggest piece of junk gun I ever bought. After numerous tries to fix it I sold it at a loss. They look so damn cool I still want another one if I could get one that actually works.

Well dont count on it being decent yet.. Its in the shop. Cocking tube got stuck after 4 shots. If the guy cant make it work 100% it might just be going back and I will get something else.

Hey, Geo, I was gonna ask what Robbie said. I was curious how it might look shoved up his rear echelon.

Yep mine did that, and would not shoot more than 2 rounds without jamming rounds so bad i had to take it apart to clear it. I was actually embarrassed to shoot it in front of other people at the range.
