Am I cool now? Is this the cool guy thing to do?

I jumped the bandwagon. I finally joined 2016 and put a red dot on a pistol.

This started its life as a Glock 17Gen4 that I won my last two weeks at my last gun store. I took advantage of Maple Leaf Firearms Black Friday deal, since the price was too good to pass up. $25 for an RMR cut.

Had my buddy Ink Customs stipple the frame, and Chingadero Tactical fix Empire Armory’s botched cerakote job. I kind of wish I would have gotten a more exciting color than Graphite Black, but, the benefit of having a buddy that cerakotes can fix that.

I picked up a beat to hell RMR off a coworker and the sights from another buddy I didn’t know what a member here.

I already have a 19 build to match it started. That one will be far more fancy, though.

They are pretty cool. Not sure I need to do it, but I like seeing ‘em.

I just picked up a Holosun 507c for my G17 (Brownell's RMR slide and Gen 3 frame - I'm a Polymer80 failure) and love it. I never have and never will be cool enough to stipple any firearm though. Nothing wrong with a bandwagon if you like something.

Yeah, it’s significantly more comfortable to me. I’m gonna pick up a Holosun for my 19 build.

Also, I bought fancier baseplates. I’m definitely doing it right now.

To answer your query...if you have to ask, then NO, you are not! (I know you want to know about yourself).
That is a very aggressive grip. You obviously do not have soft hands. As soon as I saw the first pic, it reminded me of an alien taking over a victim.
Sorry, just not a brick guy.

Some of you guys get so triggered lol. It was a joke. I do not care to “look cool”. I built this because I wanted to try out a “Gucci Glock” of my own.

And yes, the stipple job is pretty aggressive. I love it. It’s not nearly as bad as my TRP Operator. And my hands are plenty soft 😂😂😂.
It wouldn't be hands I'd worry about..My love handles are ultimately soft and tender.

I don't know. I buy things for function, purpose and if it pleases me. Being cool doesn't motivate me.
After looking at your post and mine, I admit, I do buy things that are cool. You did a great job on the grip. After buying a few handguns with rough textured grips, I understand much better. We went to Pro Gun to shoot some guns I bought and some my son built. His Glock 17 was having some problems which he solved, it is a great running gun. He built an ar15 9mm pistol that was having some problems, changed some things and that things is a tack driver.

I tried the red dot on a pistol thing for a while. Didn’t care for it. Too much time looking for the dot instead of just shooting. But that’s just me.

It DOES require a lot of muscle memory retraining. Worse than going back and forth from 1911 to Glock grip angles. I built up my Springfield XD(m) for Open class shooting with a Vortex red dot. I'm still faster without it, but with dedication (which I've not put the time in for yet) it would be faster.
