How do you make an AR shoot steel case ammo?

I have three (home build) AR's 16" 10.5" & 7.5"
All are just standard DI gassed, never had a problem with steel cased ammo.
I load the magazines, insert into gun, pull trigger .... Now a friend who has a M&P carbine, fails every magazine with steel.

In my experience, it's the bolt that dictates reliability. I have had several AR's that had reliability issues fixed with an excellennt bolt and O-ring.
BCM and LMT bolts are in all my rifles.
