First shooter to tell me what this goes to gets a virtual, slightly enthusiastic, yet socially distanced pat on the back. I found it amongst a friend’s miscellaneous gun parts and they don’t have a firearm that accepts it so they were given to me.
From what I can tell, it’s for .223/5.56 and is stamped steel with a plastic follower. My first thought was AR platform, but there are no cutouts for a mag cache on the sides, and the body has extensions on both sides (which protrude further than the body itself) which wouldn’t allow insertion into an AR platform weapon. There are two indentations towards the top that indicate the receiver it goes into would be narrow towards the front, then widen 1/3 of the way through the magazine well. No markings whatsoever. I’m assuming this would be a lever release at the front or back of the magazine.
