The primary is June 12 - less than two months away. My concern regarding the race for Clark County Sheriff is that we do not have a viable candidate to rally around.
Right now, the incompetent anti-gun sheriff, Joe Lombardo, is in the driver's seat, with backing from the casino bosses. Lombardo is their obedient errand boy. And yeah, I seriously HATE the sonofabitch.
My concern is that, in the primary, Lombardo might get more than 50% of the vote. If so, then he wins re-election - one and done. There will NOT be a general election for this seat in November.
But if nobody gets more than 50% of the primary vote, then the top two candidates will face off in November's general. See
2014 sheriff primary results: Lombardo 36.26% and Burns 28.28%.
***Primaries are well-known for having low turnouts.***
This is our best chance to unseat Lombardo. Find someone to rally around, and if that candidate gets more than 50% in the primary, then we have a new sheriff. Buh by, Lame-bardo!
But in order to do this, we need to circle the wagons around a viable candidate. Hence, my question to NVFAC: who are you endorsing for sheriff???
