What makes hunting productive or worthwhile to you?

#1
To me when venturing the outdoors with a gun and maybe a dog or two where applicable in hopes of getting game, there has to be a good chance of getting quality meat for freezer and supper table for hunting to be productive and worthwhile to me. Trophies and Boone & Crockett are of no interest to me.

It's nice to be out in nature, but if you are hoping to find wild cape buffalo in America's boonies then good luck and Godspeed!

Don't forget your rabbit's foot.

Certainly, there are places that are more productive for deer hunters or feathered-game hunters than others. Many people feel the best chances of scoring delicious game (or fish sometimes) are on private land/waters or when expensive hunting/fishing guides/outfitters are hired and paid.
