Paint or polish? Paint how? Spray paint? Cerakote?
Polish how? Mirror, Buff or shinny?

Cerakote does have a chrome/mirror finish, but don't know anyone who does it (not saying no one does in LV)

Any tip on step on how too
Find a reputable gun shop that does it. I don't know of any offhand, maybe contact Wild West and ask.

None of the 'chrome' paints actually accomplish the right look, even in the automotive field. A couple come close, but they are not for anything but a wall hanger.

What kind of steel is the slide? What finish is on there now? I would not remove the existing finish, and leave it unfinished, if it's carbon steel as it will be prone to rust.

I would only polish it if it is stainless steel. To do that, depending on what's on there now, you may have to abrasive blast it to remove the existing finish with as fine an abrasive as will do the job. Then, depending on what finish you want, you can either go for a matt finish or buff it to shine.

So a polymer frame and aluminum slide. I'd say find someone who does Cerakote or similar product and get their opinion before you do anything to it.
