As if we needed another reason NOT to go to the strip…

If you’re armed, it’ll be a waste of your time when they turn you away.

Casino's probably will deploy this in limited circumstances, probably for major events like concerts etc. I think some downtown casinos rolled out similar system but turn it off during off-peak hours.

If it faces too many false positives, guests being searched over software hit, people trolling the system vs. hard ID/concrete proof by an security, high rollers getting flagged, it will be used selectively. Casino's don't want to seen escalating a situation.

Makes me wonder how many stolen weapons will come from this technology.

Example: Guy gets stopped for carrying. Told to leave or put it in his vehicle. Anybody within earshot now knows he has a weapon. He decides to go put it in his vehicle and is followed. He comes back a few hrs later to a busted out window…

This tech will be in every door scanner in ten years. How great the #newnormal will be... Right?
This is why I laugh when guys talk down on OC and then bluster with "concealed means concealed! Theyll never know I have it!"
I knew this junk would be coming.
Its still flawed but give it time and itll probably be close to 100%
This same tech was just in its infancy like five years ago.

Feature, not a bug. Having more guns stolen from vehicles is a plus for The Narrative. It allows even more gun control to be pushed.

Again, none of what these treachers are pushing is about safety. It has been, and always will be, about control. How it is framed is merely the vehicle by which the LiV's emotions are pulled.

The feels like the “I know an OC guy that got hit first because he had his gun visible” - everyone likes to talk about it, but no one can actually give more than one instance in the last decade of it happening.

Not to say it isn’t a risk, I’m just asking if anyone has any reports of this actually occurring more than once.

I’d venture to guess that its more likely to happen than the whole OC argument.

Making an argument? Who did that?
Your postulating that sending guys back to their car to lock up their CCW will result in more stolen pistols. I’m just asking if you have any evidence to support that position beyond the feels.

I don’t recall ever stating it WOULD happen. Was just a thought, ffs!
Good lord I was just asking if you have ever actually heard of it happening or just stating a fear. When we’re talking about the outcomes and decisions people are going to make regarding their pistols and where they will and will not carry them it matters if it’s something your afraid of but don’t know about happening bs something you know happens for a fact.

Stations casinos will make you leave for the night not just put it away. Thats at least what some of the security teams will do. This is why I always pocket carry or or carry real deep iwb. Lots of retired scared libs that will report you if your shirt happens to flip up or you are printing pretty bad.

That is exactly why I have a SIG 938. I have a Bodyguard in 380 but wanted to up the oomph power in my pocket carry. I wear shorts all the time and it fits the cargo pocket very nicely. I think the Shield 2.0 will also fit in there if needed.

Yeah, don't especially like the LC9 but whatever. Have a 938 in the truck full time in case I have to swap the Beretta or HiPower out for something little or forget to pack something entirely.
Will be glad to leave anywhere that raises a stink for the night and forever, don't really want to go where I am going anyway regarding these poohole casinos.. typically.

The places that have metal detectors?...usually not on. Even the ones that have you unload your pockets onto a conveyor, for show almost always. Have carried right through them many times.

Fair, but as the tech becomes smaller, more concealable, and more efficient itll also eventual be more affordable.
Places like Arizona where their signs carry weight of law might institute these and just call 911 and let local LEO handle it.
Im not trying to be to orwellian but its easy to see the progressive power creep.
