New to civilian coms.

Any suggestions on civilian satcoms, over the horizon or something similar. On the vest PTT that works with Peltor TACVII… I think.

Quite a few have adapters. Just depends on what you are looking for as for frequency and range. If you want true satellite, Ovzon has options. The problem is you aren't going to be packing an antenna and would need to relay to another satellite antenna.

There are some satphone options that run and will allow you to have multiple calls merged. I am going to demo a different unit during the hunting season, but they aren't cheap. I have had good luck with them, but coverage is limited based on region where the Ovzon has a much wider range. The service is $80 a month and then .75 a minute for each connection and rounded up for partial minutes.
