I guess it's done...until I find something else it needs:

Not a huge fan of the Fenix coiled cord to the pressure pad...wish they made a short straight one, but it is what it is.

What we have here is a Norinco stamped MAK-90, K-Var Warsaw length stock, Hogue grip, Krebs Customs safety selector with bolt catch, Ultimak rail with Bushnell TRS-25 mounted (cowitness with stock irons), Fenix TK-22 680 lumen light with pressure pad on a Vltor 1" ring mount.

Still have to have the front sight moved back and barrel threaded for the Venom Tactical Antidote muzzle break and haven't decided if I'll do the Bolton gas block/front sight at the same time. If I don't, I also want to open the top of the front sight hoop, H&K style as the top part obstructs some view when using the red dot.

Nice AK!!! But why AK's doesn't have the last round bolt hold open like the AR's? :tantrum: mag LRBHO sucks it's just as horrible as the click of death

Thanks. I don't think I fully grasped your question, but I think you were talking about the Krebs safety with BHO. It's not a LRBHO, and will only hold the bolt if you pull the bolt handle back and slide the safety up at the same time. I use this mainly at the range, where they want the bolt open for inspection purposes.

I'm talking about on the AR's when the last round was fired that the bolt catch would engage, so the shooter knows then when reloading the next mag all you have to do is press the bolt release to chamber a round...

AK bolt system wasn't designed to hold open on last round but there are ways to mitigate that dreaded "click instead of bang" moment. One is the pro-active reload. IMHO the best guy to watch out there on operating the AK is Sonny Puzikas - he is all over YouTube. Travis Haley is another.

Updated pic from post #328 - cut and shortened the light remote switch cord. Makes a HUGE difference to how it looks I think. I have also since cut the top 1/3 of the front sight hood away, like other AK's and H&K's. Hit the damn front sight post with the cutoff wheel though, so a few new ones are on the way. Looks like I'll be having Marxman Precision thread the barrel and install my Venom Tactical Antidote muzzle brake.
