I'm looking at midsize trucks. I really wanted to like the Tacoma but I test drove one and the interior was too small. I plan on looking at the 23 Colorado Trail Boss next and curious if any owners, mechanics etc. here have an opinion on it? I'm 6'5 so leg and headroom could possibly be an issue?

No trail boss here but I used to have the GMC version (the Canyon). I'm 5'11" and had plenty of adjustment left over...but I'd definitely see how you feel in one first.
I had the 3.6, solid engine, easy to do preventative maintenance on, tech was modern and not glitchy. My understanding is the newer ones have the 8 speed auto now. Drove nice, but the biggest thing I appreciated was the quietness of the interior on the highway - my wife's RAV seems absurdly loud in comparison.
I'd be driving it today but started doing nearly 100/mi a day in commuting, so turbo diesel it was.
