Nobody is excited about the law going into effect regarding private sales. To do my part to help out my friends on this forum, I’m willing to buy a handful of cool guns, today only, for 25% of their actual value. Heck, I’ll even fill out a bill of sale, if you want. Let me know what you’ve got soon, as I have limited resources. Once I’m broke, I’ll have to start issuing IOUs. ?

I hope you all have a great new year. Be safe, tonight!

You want an ARVN rifle? Never been fired, only dropped once.

Be it known to all men by these presents, that bumper is hereby filing a formal complaint about all kinds of stuff, to wit:

Since gracing this forum with my presence, I have been besieged with all manner of appealing offers to purchase guns, ammo and accessories, the vast majority of which are located in Las Vegas and surrounds. This chaps my hide some, as I live in Douglas County, where the pickin's are slim indeed. Well, until last night, that is. I bought this perfect (no scratches or blemishes - picture has oil smudge) early Ruger. The owner had it in his safe for 50 years (used to own a gun store in CA) and never fired it. If it has been shot, it sure doesn't look like it. The serial number puts it as an early 1952 mfg. But the red eagle is confusing. Alexander Sturm died 16 November 1951, it was after, that Bill Ruger switched the red eagle to black in his honor and remembrance. So does the timing, serial number (3342X), and eagle combine to make this a 1952 or late 51??

BTW, I picked it up for $395, with two mags!

So you are saying I can buy it for $100 if I can find Douglas County before midnight?

I have two early Ruger Standard models (pre Mark1) One made in 1956 (short barrel) and one made in 1958 (long barrel). Black eagle of course.
The early ones seem to be better made.
