"ICOM IC-V80-SPORT VHF FM Transceivers
ICOM IC-V80 SPORT VHF FM Transceivers are ICOM's most economical, full-featured, 2 meter handhelds and satisfy the needs of the budget-minded ham!
"SPORT" models are the most affordable because they are provided with a handy BP-263 Battery Case for AA cells, instead of a rechargeable battery pack and charger. Even with alkaline batteries, these handhelds give you a full 5.5 Watts of RF power in a small, lightweight package.
These IC-V80 SPORT handhelds also have an internal VOX function for hands-free operation when used with an optional headset and plug-adapter cable. These transceivers use a special sound amplifier that doubles the audio output to 750 mW! Their large speaker delivers loud and intelligible audio.
With their 207 alphanumeric memory channels, you can pick and choose your desired scanning. CTCSS and DTCS tone codes provide quiet stand-by and allow you to use tone-access repeaters.
IC-V80 SPORT handhelds have passed the MIL-STD-810 environmental tests! Dust and water-resistance equivalent to IP54 means reliable operation for practical outdoor use.
