I got this gun in the Summer of 1979 when I was first of age to hunt. My dad set me up with it and I'm reasonably certain it was new, though deciphering the serial # was not as quick & easy as I thought. I hunted with it for about 5 years, then other things took me away from guns entirely for many years. I think my brother's kids used it a bit, but it's been back in my possession for 3 years now. I doubt I'll ever get back into hunting so I'm looking to sell it.

Includes a strap, unused Hoppe's Bore Snake, 16 rounds of ammo, and a Bushnell Sportview scope with no markings so I don't know the specs. I've had an SKB double case up for sale here for a long time; I'll make a deal on that if interested.

Price: $525

Remington's aren't dated by serial number. They have a date code stamped into the barrel on the left side just in front of the recoil lug.

It is a 2 letter code. First letter is the month code. Second letter is the year code. From the looks of your picture it looks like your date code is KQ (the picure is a little out of focus on the code). KQ should be a date of May 1978.
