You can have a large wing and not worry how much you open the trunk, when the wing is on the trunk. Yes this is stock from the factory. BMW laughed at Mercedes for it, saying that if it worked they would have to redesign their wind tunnel. They did:dita:

Too funny.
My early Trans Am had the rear trunk mounted "spoiler" which required different springs to support the weight vs the standard Firebird line. Guys who added the spoiler without changing the springs used the top of their heads to keep the trunk open. Amazing that with just a little added weight it wouldn't stay open.

added a spoiler to my 70 Camaro. I use an old squeegee handle to prop open the trunk.

Everyone knows foreign cars have them so that you can hang them up and still have room for your riding mower

A friend used his as a daily driver in 1983. I could have bought it for $12k with a fresh 440 6 pack. I still kick myself. Of course I didn’t have $12k laying around either

In 1980 wife and I picked up a 69 Daytona Charger, Black over White, 440 with the 6 pack and the auto trans, with just 13k miles on it for $3,800. Drove it for a few months, detailed it inside and out, and sold it for $10k, now I'd like to have it back. That Superbird above is gorgeous, same color as my 1970-1/2 and 1971 Trans Ams.
