Any details on the bow? Poundage, length, brand?

Its about the size of a tailgate on a 2007 1500 chevy silverado pickup and its priced very inexpensively.
Oh and i took the metal tape off the handle. It looks better that way.

Nifty little bow. Vintage era, likely late 50's or early 60's. I've yet to ID the maker. Took me a couple of hours to get it cleaned up and repaired.

Collectors consider this bow a 'wall hanger' because it'll never shoot again due to cracked fiberglass lamination issues which can be common among bows of the era. Time, use, and abuse take a toll on the early recurves.

Very fair seller, glad we got together.

Posted some pics of the partially refurbished bow so the seller can see the improvement, keeping the bow's heritage intact.

It looks more like a reflex/deflex longbow than a recurve.

The colors make me think of vintage Shakespeare bows but the shelf area isn't the same.
It also has a resemblance to a vintage Bear longbow.

I was interested but I'm glad someone who can restore it got it.
Just for kicks here are a couple of pics of my 2 recurves.

Wow love that display, very well done. Super sweet bows! Makes me want to get out and do some shooting.

This bow is still a mystery. After looking at more than 1000 bows online I still haven't found one. Most closely resembles a Bear Panda but the Panda's were all red-limbed from what I've seen. But the Panda has a sort of inserted shelf which mounts under the leather, sort of a plastic piece that can be replaced and mounted on either side. You can see on the left side of the grip of this bow that the remains of the shelf can still be seen bulging under the leather wrap.

But Bear didn't use wrap like that, wound spiraled around the grip, they used a one piece style of leather. They did use this color in the early Alaskans and others but this particular bow simply doesn't show up anywhere.

I used to collect and buy/sell a lot of bows before moving to Las Vegas. I was in hunting country and came across a lot of bows. I was an archery hunter myself. One of my clients was a guy named Al Reader who was considered the foremost expert in Bear Archery history. He was a lefty and bought my LH bows. Al passed away more than a decade ago. It was a privilege knowing and speaking with him.

Another friend was John Shulz, the protégé of Howard Hill. His daughters were good friends of mine and we all spent one Thanksgiving together around 1990. John is a renowned long bow builder and instinctive shooter. His boys were amazing as well. They have videos on YouTube.

Nice to chat with a fellow archery buff! Do we have an archery section here on NS? If not we need to--
