I have a 7.5” ruger super redhawk in both the 7.5” with red dot (match dot) sight and an alaskan.
i don’t really need both, but need at least one (my other place is next door to Mr.Brown’s house.
they are both in 454 casull, but you can tone down the power and run 45lc, or super soft shooter with 45LC cowboy loads and it is a mouse to shoot it with them.
at any rate, hadn’t thought of selling, but am happy to have a little cash in my pocket and only really need one of them

Oh boy those are beautiful bear guns!! To be genuine, I have my heart set on 44 mag and it's going to be a gun for the wife and I. Have a couple in my inbox that I'm going to make a decision on tomorrow.

if you are looking at staying with 44 mag, I would put S&W 29 (blued) at the top of my list and 29-2 or prior are pinned and recessed which are highly coveted due to the worksmanship it takes to time a threaded barrel and the recessing of the cylinder.
otherwise, Freedom Arms makes some amazing single action revolvers in 44mag.
for shooters most any good gun will do - the ruger redhawk is similar in size to 29s and comes in 44mag as I recall. Also a nice piece And may save you a few bucks.

all good man, just have a collection and there is pretty much always something I could move.
I generally don’t sell much, but saw your ad, and am in the middle of setting up a little Jeep Rod of sorts so I thought a grand or so wouldn’t hurt moving it along a little less painfully.
i backpack quite a bit and carried the 7.5“ for years, got the little alaskan after a trip with lots of elevation gains (climbs) - instead of foregoing beer and losing weight, I got a shorter sidearm - and so came the Alaskan
the 7.5“ is more useable as a hunter or target gun, but the Alaskan has the cool factor.
funny enough, the 7.5 has more kick - likely due to the longer dwell time of the projectile in the barrel - whoda thunk!?

pretty hard to go wrong with either the Ruger or the S&W. IMO, the S&Ws will be cleaner, but a bit more fragile. The rugers are a far more stout design, and are able to handle the hotter magnum loads - many ammo manufacturers state to nt run their hot ammo in anything but Ruger or Freedom Arms (and I think Magnum Research) revolvers.
nothing wrong with the smiths, just a little limited on how hot you can go on the loads.

OP, if you want to see the ultimates, look at Korth for customs, or Manhurian for used off the shelf amazing.
a manhurian can be had for a mere princely sum, while the Korth will demand a King’s ransom ?
just for kicks, here is a pic of the beer medicines for the Alaskan? it hucks almost as much lead as a 12g at almost the same speed (out of the 7.5 anyway ...)
note the term “almost“ ?

I'm really digging the wheel gun and cartridge porn this thread is welcoming. I glanced at the .500 S&W for sale at Bass Pro during lunch, and prompted me to google. 44 vs. .454 vs. .500 comparisons at lunch. These big cartridges and revolvers are amazing!
We love our Ruger GP100 .357, and I'll be in the market for another .357 soon. But for now, for our intended purpose, I can't see wanting anything larger than the .44 magnum.
DeplorableOne you mentioned hiking in big game country. We are considering a relocation somewhere near big game country. Do you guys hunt as well? What would be considered a milder round for the .44 to get her started off in, aside from 44 special?

There's a reason why most Rugers "look" more stout than other brands...(research cast vs forged) 
i understand cast and forged methods of manufacture, but I don’t think that investment castings are appreciably different in practical use scenarios.
further, Ruger is the standard bearer as regards to heavy load for caliber.
just ask double tap, buffalo bore, and others what firearms they approve for their heavy loads.

so it will get used more, prior it was that 60-15, but 8 shots v. five is worth the weight penalty - or not ...

this was my early season elk this year. (Haha, no, not me in the pic lol, just getting it processed.)
funny enough, I bought a 300 win mag this year on a whim - I have been using my Ruger no. 1 in 30-06 for years and have a nice Win model 70 (pre ‘64) also in 30-06 as a backup, but I had visions of reaching out past my usual 200-300yd shots I am willing to take. The 300 is a flatter shooter.
end all, this was taken at about 250yds on the Western Slope of CO.
the 300win mag isn’t for sale really, but some dude was asking for one on this site, and heck, I am fine with my 06s, so I told him about it. The guy hammered me wirh questions, wanted pics, more pics and so on. Then ghosted ... what a dick.

the rifle is a Legendary Arms Works 704 Professional - designed by Ed Brown (of 1911 fame), has the same quality worksmanship as his 1911s, and is in a most excellent stock.
great rifle, but I am cool with my oldies. but, as the ypguy wasn’t smart enough to jump on this one, I guess she will sty with me. That is fine, she is a fine piece. Besides, if I sold it, you just know the monies would go straight to booze and fast wimmenz ?
I don’t save the racks any more, my doogs love em so they are cut and fed to them.
only been a month and the cuts (of antler, not the meat) are almost gone - so goes Cane Corso’s ....
