For some reason, from time to time people feel the need to tell a potential seller they are asking too much for an item they are selling. Or how, 5 years ago you bought the same thing for half the cost - or whatever. The term we use for that around here is "Thread Crapping".
It has been against the rules since the inception of this forum. Still, some people think the rules don't apply to them, or simply think reading the rules is beneath them and don't know any better.
For those folks, we have implemented a new policy.
Thread Crapping results in at least a 7 days ban from the forum.
Not sure how we can be more clear. If you don't like the price someone is posting in the Trading Post, feel free to message them privately. But if you post in their thread, it will not be tolerated.

titan, what do you recommend in a situation where an item is being misrepresented? Would the “report“ button be the means of bringing this to the attention of the moderators?

First, never thread crap.

Secondly, message the seller.

If you feel there is something illegal about it, yes, use the report button.

Not enough people have read this. Or they don't think it applies to them?
