I keep getting beat out by Bullseye so thought I would see if anyone is interested. Please "shoot" me a message if you have one available.

My recommendation for buying Marlins, look for either a "JM" gun (those born before Marlin was purchased by Freedom Arms/Remington around late 2008), or more recently since Ruger purchased what was left after that debacle. To determine year of manufacture subtract the first two digits of the serial number from 100. E.g. my 1895 Guide Gun has a serial beginning with 93, thus it was made in 2007, one of the last of the good ones.

Bumper, Absolutely agree about the JM stamped Marlins. I should've added that to my criteria. Your guide gun is beautiful!

I just picked up a Henry 45-70, my first lever. These levers go fast when they're put up for sale.

Yep, I'm a shooter and not a flipper.
I like to trade some things. I'd been looking for a lever for a year and finally found one. That one is going to be next to my rocking chair. Now I just have to find an 870 and my set is complete
