I could be wrong but considering what the bulk of the items are and the time it took to catalog, take pictures and post each item and the time to arrange for pickup, collect payment, etc, etc, it doesn't look like a good ROI to me.

Good ROI for who? Auction house gets a 15% buyers premium on each item sold.

I was referring to Nellis auction buyers percentage, it's pretty consistent at 15%.
