We’ve dragged the trailer about 2000 miles so far this year, all within the state. I’ve still got to pull it to my hunt in November, over by Ely (will be driving to Vegas first probably).

Just got this Monday - 1946 CJ2A in reasonably stock condition and over all really nice.
Not beat to death but not concourse either - just a nice old jeep I can have some fun with.
Hasn't been fired up the last 5 to 6 years so going over every thing before I prep the engine to be re-fired.

It took me over a year but I got it up and running and dressed the way I wanted - mostly CJ2A with a little bit of MB/GPW and M38 for good measure. Surprisingly, quite the head turner around town.

Surprisingly, quite the head turner around town
I'm not surprised at all. Lost of folks appreciate classic (and very rare) examples rolling about under power :) Surprised you haven't been flagged down by a few fans, honestly.

I get a lot of thumbs up when running errands - usually have people standing around it in the parking lot when I come back to it from the store. A lot of people are in shock when they hear what the year of manufacture is - 1946.

My Off Road vehicle is a 1967 VW Beetle Baja Bug. It has a 1914cc engine, disc brakes, 32 inch rear tires, and even a gas powered heater! I have driven this thing just about everywhere and have never been stuck or high centered. In fact, I have even driven past 4x4 trucks that where stuck in snow, mud, and sand! And yes, I use it for hunting trips. Just shoot small deer!

I had two street 67's in the mid 90's. I do miss them. Funky year!

This is my desert shooting rig, ghost town and abandoned mine wanderer, and winter daily driver.

Unfortunately, this was my camping rig that lost a duel with a cow back in July. Since camping season is over, I'll replace it later.

That looks great. Pretty jealous. I’ve been low key searching for an old Willy’s for a while now.

A reasonably decent one is a tough find. I got lucky on this one. A guy in northern CA gave it to his grandson whose parents live on the same street I live on. The kid didn't want it and his dad was taping the "For Sale" sign on the windshield just as I was driving by. I immediately stopped, looked it over and made the deal. They said they never dreamed it would sell in 15 minutes.

My father in law has offered me a complete ‘47 Willy’s wagon. It’s sitting in his yard and he’s never going to finish it.

Trouble is he tried to tell me if he brings it out to me I have to restore it to 100% stock. no motor swap no changes bo rat rod no nothing. So I was like ‘you want to sell me a thing and then control how I build it? You sir, can keep it’

Mine's pretty Much a bone stock 1st gen Toyota Tundra 4x4 TRD, with the suicide doors and some slightly larger than stock aggressive AT tires. It's not a true "murder", but a practical trail rig that gets me and the dirt bike ( and firearms ) all over the place near the black Rock desert.

Best All around truck I've ever owned. I'm looking for one that's a true 4 door edition, that I can lift a bit, put some 33", or 35" AT/MT tires so I can really get around well ( or more stuck) in the Desert. The one I have works so well that I don't want to screw it up with too many off-road upgrades. I am thinking about installing an efficient Air intake, and exhaust system to get more "free" power, and maybe a chip upgrade.

I used to go to DMRO auctions for military surplus. I never found an M38. Humve's yes, but no jeeps. 5-tons, Duece and a half's, sedans were always available.
Something about the M38 not being safe on public roads/ unstable at high speeds because of the fully independent rear suspension. Supposedly they were all cut up, destroyed.

Back in the late 80's when the Jeep was replaced by the Humvee, the government decided that the surplus Jeeps were too dangerous to sell to civilians. They ordered most of them to be destroyed. Nellis dropped a hell of a lot of bombs on jeeps as targets on the ranges.
