Nye County has a "tax lien" auction twice a year for properties that have been seized for lack of payment on property taxes.
You had to drive to Pahrump and bid live at the courthouse. Some excellent deals were found on land purchases.
Then the fakedemic hit and Nye County decided that, because of "social distancing" BS, that they would move the auctions to "Bid for Assets" on the internet.
Now you got the whole world bidding on these tax properties without even seeing them.
Drives the price through the roof. Good for Nye County, not good for the local folks.
Sorry for OT: Same thing here in Douglas County. Back when we gathered in the old courthouse to bid, I got a few smoking deals. They are considering ending the internet thing and bringing it back local.

I did notice one thing tonight that might make potential bidders more confident in bidding: Make the maker/model more clear.

For example, on the Sig P220 magazines I could see that some were sig, some you could not see the marking on, and one was a MecGar magazine.

Same for the 92F magazines. I could see that some were Checkmate, some looked like factory mags, but the shiny ones you could not see enough detail to know who the OE is. ProMag makes a very shiny M92F mag that I would not touch with someone else's 10' pole :)

The AK 20-round magazines could have made a much higher selling point if the bidder could rule out KCI as the maker. I was not going to take a chance that they were KCI (which are junk and sell for under $10ea).

Just some suggestions and I look forward to your next auction. Good stuff in this one.
Yes some 92 mags were USGI and some were a lesser brand. AK mags, I watched as she pulled out random boxes from her garage and throw stuff at me. I didn't see a maker, and she didn't buy them so she wouldn't know.
Depending on who the P220 mags came from yes either factory or MecGar.

But I have also seen lots labeled at factory "Sig, Beretta, Browings..." sell for less than no name. So many variables. But yes all things I will keep in mind as I try and improve.

Everyone who won, you can pick up this week 10-4 Mon-Fri. If you can't make those times let me know and we can work something out, I will bet there earlier and later most days. You can pay when you pick up. You will receive a proxi invoice by tomorrow afternoon with the total.
So the email says we have to notify you that we are going to pay cash. It doesn't say how to do that, and I'm assuming replying to the proxy email won't do it.

It says to let me know, but that is just more CYA. I figure most of you will be coming in to pick up.
If you let me know when, great.
I will be in 10-4 Mon-Fri. Most days I will be in before then and after, but not everyday as I have some appointments. If you need to come after 4 we can work out which day. I just don't want you to show up when I am not there.
