Yeah, it's kind of messed up and seems to stop when someone benefits by winning a free item. :toetap05:

I have gone back a few pages and it appears the "pay it forward" concept is often lost.

If you have gotten something free here and have not yet "paid it forward"...
Maybe it is time for you to dig through your stuff and give something away here?

I am just saying... After all, that would be the right thing to do! :thumbsup:

It's just an idea, but what if we organized this too move more smoothly. How about a ground rule, that you need to have something to" pay it forward" with before you can even say I want whats posted to be given away:thumbup:
So, the next pay it forward can be posted immediately following the lucky person being drawn/chosen:smilewinkgrin:
What does everyone think of this? If someone still doesn't understand the concept, please just ask somebody to break it down for you HEHE! Oh, and please try not to bicker...it defeats the whole purpose of good karma/good will.

The concept is extremely easy to understand, you get something, you offer something in return. Some members offer things for free without any thought of compensation, if that is the case then it should be offered without any strings attached on the trader section of the forum. This thread is a pay it forward thread and not a place for a hand out. :beatdeadhorse5:

I think it is still going, It appears (going back a couple pages) that Jason and Mayhem Inc still need to post their pay it forward items. I am sure at some point they will do that and get it goin again.

Ive been a big fan of the pay it forward concept for a few years. I have some stuff folks might want and isnt doing me any good. Will keep an eye on this thread.

99% of the people on the forum will get a email when a thread they posted on gets a comment. Unless they unsubscribed to the thread for some strange reason, they should be getting the message. I think the reminder needs to come from a higher up or moderator. Some have won a karma item months ago!

Requiem, TitanNV and TopHog have activity on this thread so we'll have to see if one of them (Admin and 2 Mods) will "crack the whip" so to speak to get this Karma going again. If not then let this thread collect dust and then one day it will drop off the sticky portion of the boards for waste of bandwith :Yawn:

JD, I tried to explain to these people how it works - a few times actually. No one got the hint. So I just ignore it mostly.

It should be:
An item, or 'lot', are offered for Karma (pay it forward or whatever).
The 'offerer' sets a time (normally 5-7 days) for people to say "I'm in" or whatever. At the end of the given period, a name is pulled from a hat, or some similar 'fair' method, and that person wins it - PERIOD!

No money, except maybe shipping!
No 'first dibs', a la Kyle!

It should be fair for all members to have a chance.

And the Karma winner 'should' offer up something else in the same manner. That's where the 'pay it forward' comes in!

I had a few things I wanted to put up for Karma, but no one got the idea, so I haven't bothered!
