If you want to stick with polymer handguns in same price range as Glocks, but with nice grips & triggers out-of-the-box...... then CZs, IWIs, Walthers
We have a Walther Creed which is the softest shooting 9mm that I've shot. Inexpensive, and a great feel in hand. It's not striker fired though, has a bobbed hammer..

My friend's Ruger Security 9, except for being hammer-fired, and more comfortable, was extremely Glock 19ish. It was a very nice pistol and I put one student through an entire day of flawless shooting with it.
