Just did this last week at New Frontier. The FFL should request that the seller hold onto the firearm until the bg comes back to eliminate the chance of the seller having to pay the $25 bg cost for himself/herself to get the firearm back if the bg comes back denied for the potential buyer. That would also include waiting for a new bg on the seller. This is because if the FFL keeps the firearm over night it by law must be entered into their books, requiring a bg check approval before that firearm can legally be released from the FFL. And NO!!, a CCW does not help or speed up the situation in any way when it comes to a private party transfer regardless of the buyer, seller, or both having a CCW. Hope this helps and clears things up for people that have not been through this process yet.
