That was me, the ID was valid, I ran the DL, the picture was photoshopped , true, but to put both the M1 garand and the ID in focus it appeared.
As I recall, it was reported as a scam solely based on the premise that the ID was a fake. No money changed hands, is that correct?
The ID wasn't fake, and the gent on it has addresses in CA and Gardnerville, now, NONE of this I just wrote means he is NOT a scammer, just means that previous report didn't prove it to point we could ban him.
We do as much as we can to ensure the members here are legitimate, but guys, WE ARE NOT your parents, all ya'all are big boys and girls and should be responsible for your own actions.
If you buy a used car through and ad in the paper or off a bulletin board at the grocery store, and it turns out to be a lemon and a scam, do you complain to the newspaper or the store? And want them somehow to remedy it for you?
As I said, we do what we can to weed out the fakes and scammers and spammers, often a dozen a day. Keep reporting them when you have solid proof, and we will do what we can to get them gone and keep them gone.
I am sorry if a member is out money, but it is every buyers responsibility to do their due diligence in any purchase, whether if is from an ad on this forum or anywhere else and for any item.
And while we are on the subject of reporting issues with sales, and with buyers and sellers, I am TIRED of getting reports that a sale went through but the seller or buyer is being reported as having been RUDE, or was 5 minutes late to the meeting point because of traffic, or was grumpy, or old, or hard to arrange a convenient meeting time with, or you bought it but then decided it wasn't EXACTLY as described when you got it home and found one extra scratch you weren't aware of , or some other whiney nonsense, yah, have had people report someone for all those things in the last few months.
Old man rant off.
