Employment/Jobs - helping our members!

I meant 2 years as a lube tech not lounge lol but that job sounds like something i'd like to do what is a cover letter though? I have a resume already I'm definitely going to apply

A cover letter simply states who the resume is from, to and the intended department (tech support), since this lady handles all departments in the company.

It's a shame seeing so many highly qualified individuals out of work. I'm unemployed also. It seems like I get work every few months and then get laid off. Then the people who were running the company lie to unemployment and say I quit voluntarily so I have to wait months on end for an appeal to the state and embarrass these people in front of a mediator for lying. Hopefully this town turns around back to pre 2007 when everyone had money. I really haven't been able to enjoy this place as much as I'd like since I moved here in 2008, all these businesses keep folding.

Best of luck to everyone. I've typically received all of my positions through either craigslist or linkedin as many have already mentioned. I also get a lot of bites through careerbuilder.com after I uploaded my resume. Hope that helps!

I'm currently looking for work in the IT Field.

Systems Admin, NOC, Network Engineer, etc.

Pretty strong knowledge / skills. Bachelors in CyberSec, Can do almost anything but programming.

Was laid of 2 weeks ago, my company thought it would be smart to hire someone and pay them half what I was making.

Looking for almost anything IT or Technical related at this point..... Tired of being at home.

Pretty much same here. I don't have a bachelors but I'm working on getting more network infrastructure certs as well as virtualization and going further into cloud solutions. I need a job at the moment but truth be told I'm really looking at starting my own firm sometime this year with another engineer friend of mine. My last job out here showed me how incredibly easy it is to charge people ridiculous amounts of money to fix the simplest of things. I went to an office one day where they said their internet didn't work. All I did was plug the cable back into the modtap and my company charged them 150 bucks. Blew my mind.

As for what happened to Synonyx, yeah tell me about it. I've been laid off for the same reason, sometimes no reason at all, and then these employers will actually lie to the state saying I quit voluntarily so I couldn't collect unemployment. They didn't want their unemployment insurance to drop them seeing they're a small company, so I had to wait 3 months, talk to a mediator in front of them, and then all of a sudden it was fine when he told them that less than 20% of my weekly unemployment would be coming from him. Go figure. I hate some of these employers out here, because its a right to work state they think its a right to treat people like crap state.

I have a friend that needs a pro audio installer. This is not Audio express, this is a custom car audio shop. I am not an installer so Im not sure of the qualifications needed but he has done installs in the $30,000 range, and thats custom work not equipment. If your interested let me know by PM and I will tell you where to go.

Okay, my company is in need of a few people for landscape installations.

These jobs are not running a mower all day, we need to hire people for install crews.

-I need a few drivers. This means somebody that can work, and has a valid license. This person is basically a install crew worker, that is also able to drive a truck (no CDL or anything). Landscape experience is a plus, but if you have a license and can work outdoors, and are willing to learn, you're qualified. Will be doing work such a srock install, plant install, minor irrigation work, etc.

-Also needing a install crew leader, a foreman of sorts. If you have a license, that would be ideal. Need to have landscape install experience, irrigation experience, etc. Need to be able to do work such as installing paver patios, full spray and drip irrigation systems, retaining walls, plant materials, so on and so forth.

-Lastly, we need laborers. Again, same duties as a driver without the driving.

Shoot me a PM if you need work, or know anybody that needs work (your sisters boyfriend, your cousin, etc). This will be full time, not day laborer stuff. We need people we can count on that will show up and do their job well. We are a small, but good (busy) company to work for.

Need a Springfield gunsmith

If you want to lighten up the trigger by a pound or so and smooth it out a bit, Powder River Precision has a spring kit for it that sells for $15. It was by far the best $15 I have spent on a gun.

Ok. So I bought an XD-S the other day - I haven't even taken it to the range yet - and after this glowing endorsement, I went ahead and bought this kit.

Now I need someone to install it. Do we have any Springfield certified gunsmiths on the forum? PM if you or someone you know can do the job.

Thanks!

It's a very straight forward install. If you can detail strip the gun then you are golden.
