Us OWGs can have pretty strong opinions. Hell, one guy implied I was everything but a communist with no integrity in my process because I bought some powder that was surplus to another forum member in a non-original container. Later I learned that Bruce Hodgdon got his start buying surplus powder by the train car load and repackaging it in brown paper sacks.

Shameless threadjack, but it is still funny as hell to me, and shows how we can be very opinionated.

You implied that all by yourself and miscronstrued what i said in that direction.

1. Yes
2. The last ten years on this forum. Never were we talking about promises made so get that out of your head. With respect im pretty sure everything is a probably until a judge or jury makes a ruling and even then.
3 lots of ppl are blowing smoke. by definition a contribution is a gift or payment to a common fund or collection bringing about a result or helping something to advance. That sounds like communisum.
4. No and no like i said before you and those you chose to represent got all worked up over the word "forced" it was a nice free ride for awhile.
Amazing to me how you are so entitled to get butt hurt over the words forced donation and i cant do the same with other words. "Rules for thee but not for me" how very communist of you comrade.
Look I’m done sparring with you, that was never my intention. I was only trying to get you to see why some people were upset with your point of view. I see where your coming from and I’m no one to say it’s right or wrong.
I’ll leave it at that.

I don't see the problem with the basic concept of being a paying supporter to post ads, what I have a problem with is, as a paying supporter, being banned without warning, as I was over the past week because I, like many others, had an opinion on a recent topic. This was wrong. If the site is going to establish a paying model, it should be a bit more open to conversation, polite differences of opinion, among paying members, else state that group-think is now required. Further, no one, paying especially, should be banned without warning except in the most egregious of circumstances. Especially, after just soliciting me, in my case, to become a paid advertiser. Well, that one isn't happening anytime soon. Or, would that have given me a Get Out of Jail Free card protection from banning?
Well, I for one have no idea what you're talking about... Feel free to PM me instead of hashing out on here if you're inclined... But Forum Supporters have never had preferential treatment over other members when it comes to enforcement of the rules.

Just so everyone understands, Capitalism (this site) is asking for a donation, not to use the site, but to "sell" on the site. You can still reply to the for sale posting without a donation. Its just for members that want to SELL SOMETHING.
Communism is a little bit different. The powers that be "take" your donation whether you like it or not, and without asking, and then force you to participate.

I am asking that the rules be enforced equally. No matter if good ole boys club or not Yes, most of the mods here are great, Just airing out grievances. For example pointing out a idiot scratch on a 1911 vs pointing out that brand of 1911 is a total POS. Or, pointing out what the seller is claiming is full of crap. Instant ban? Sometimes, it depends on who makes the comments. Just be fair..
Otherwise the NS site is managed well. Edited from post 136

Both of those examples in bold are threadcrapping in a sales thread, a prohibited act. Some users don’t take to warnings on repeat offenses and earn the temp ban. And no level of donation to the forum is going let someone bypass the rules.

Now, I’ll say this about myself, and only myself: I’m sure I miss all sorts of stuff. Mods here volunteer, and rule one for us is to still enjoy the forum and community. And we are human and make mistakes. I don’t scan every thread actively for rule violations to enforce. Like most, I click ‘New Posts’ and look at what interests me.

So I’m certain I do miss the off threadcrap or political side chatter or whatever thing. It’s nothing selective or nefarious on my part. I probably just wasn’t interested in a thread title, or got bored on page 2 and didn’t see some pissing match break out on page 3 about how great of a round .45AARP is.

And on the flip side, when I do delete a couple posts that break the well established forum rules, I manage to catch insults in my inbox.

It’s no win most of the time for us. We can’t please all the people all the time. Just keep in mind we’re a community. We Gun Owners are all we got when it comes to this passion we love, and since social media is constantly finding ways to shove us out of the mainstream, this is one of the few places we have to come together.

I agree with most of your comments. Need clarification on one. If I notice something that don't belong in the picture, such as a 1911 idiot scratch, asking if it is a dog hair, or scratch is a violation? The best way to avoid a ban is to say nothing? Or, just the opposant, friends of the OP praising the product like it was a gift from God? You have a difficult job. Thank you for doing what you do.

As a rule of thumb, unless you're the seller or potential buyer, there is no need to post in the Trading Post.
