Caliber requests

Unfortunately I need to find an ammo source when I cannot get acquire reloading components. My preferred powders have been scarce lately.

My requests are as follows;

  • .38 special (standard and +P) SWC or WC
  • .380 ACP
  • 9mm 124 grain (non +P)
  • .223 Rem / 5.56mm NATO
  • .45 ACP SWC

I prefer all of my bullets being a total metal jacket to minimize lead exposure. I would also like to see the ballistics for your products. Any plans on putting up a website?

Finally getting around to posting, so we went through around 1,800 rounds over the weekend. I had zero malfunctions, my mom had tons of malfunctions, but she was holding the gun wrong, and my little brother had a malfunction, but that was do to a magazine not being seated properly. So as far as I can tell the ammo is good to go!

Well I finally got out to shoot the .223 ammo. It shot like any other .223 ammo. They all went bang! It's good stuff.

I would buy more but to be honest I can get new brass cased ammo shipped to my door for about $20 less per 1,000 round box. Do you think your prices will come down? I like the ammo and I like the fact that you're in Nevada but paying $20 more for reloaded vs new ammo doesn't make sense IMO. Now if the prices were lower then I would buy again for sure.

We're in a catch 22...to get prices down we have to sell ammo and a lot of it...if people wait to buy till prices come down we're in trouble for sure. We are looking forward to our web site getting started so we can begin selling on liine/mail order. Please let me know where your getting that price from so I can look into it. Thanks for your comments and business. Matt

Thanks for kind note...bad news is we can't compete against the imports so we are forced to close up shop. People say they care about "Made in America"...but most don't and only care about saving a few pennies so we'll just hope for the best in regards to supply like before. Thanks to you all that bought our ammo. Matt

Sorry you guys are having to close up shop but to be fair you can't say that it's your made in America ammo vs import ammo. There are numerous other manufactures who produce ammo right here in the US. To me it was the fact that I could buy brand new ammo for much less than Truefire reloaded ammo. I could not justify this.

Were they selling reloads? The stuff I purchased (9mm) was brand new. I see in the first post that they would be selling new and reload but I wasnt aware of them hving reload.

I didnt mind buying local for a slight cost over what the internet cost was but with ammo going down, the prices werent dropping at TF.

When I purchased my 500 rounds, they were priced pretty competitively. After shipping online, it was damn near the same price. But as ammo dropped in price, theirs didnt which is kind of unfortunate. Ammo was good stuff and locally available without any bull****.

There are numerous other manufactures who produce ammo right here in the US. To me it was the fact that I could buy brand new ammo for much less than Truefire reloaded ammo. This is where we were at as far as this and several other local remanufacturers or small ammo manufacturers.

I can't sell it for more than I sell brand new facotry Federal, Winchester, or Remington in the stores unfortunately or we could have done a lot of business.

Its not a matter of pinching pennies or American made. Its a very tough market, and everyone thinks they can just pop in it and sell because there's demand.

I had a long talk with Josh about it when he first was starting and explained that he can not in any way compete on brand new common caliber ammo with companies making tens of millions of rounds daily and making their own components. I advised him to go into harder to find calibers like 50AE, 500S&W, 300 BLK, etc because there is room in that market for a smaller business model. He insisted on using new components and competing directly against Federal and Winchester, and we knew where that would take it.......

The grass isn't always greener, and there is a lot of research that needs to be done to find a market for a business plan like this. There's a reason that there are many of us in this town with the capital to do it, but stay from away from it.
