Drove by looked at the crowd and said screw this, this circus should have had a tent on top of it. 40 minute drive each way wasted.
I won't ever go back for another "sale" unless it's restructured.
This is in no way bashing as i've made many purchases there and all have been good experiences.

Got there at 9:55 and made it through the doors probably 10:05 and grabbed a number. Looked around at the rifle table at the dozen or so still there then tried to look at the pistols. Waited for my BIL to arrive and then left. Came back at 4:15 and no one in the store. Checked out the rifles and pondered one shotgun before picking up the Remington R1. Should be an interesting project.

If they could have let us in 10-20 at a time, so we could have actually had a chance to get what we were there for....waiting roughly 4 hours for.

Once again I like NFA, but this too will be the last time I waste my time at one of these sales...

On the bright side, I'll still be using the money I had planned to spend there on my guns haha

I just picked up a nice Winchester from there. They had about...15 rifles, 10-15 shotguns and about 8 launchers. Didn't even look at pistols. Still had the springfields and a few other nice items. Worth the trip!

Guy's were buying old Remington shotgun's for $275.00 plus tax, plus background check ? you can buy them brand new for the same price on sale at just about any big gunstore right now, that's impulse buying.Crazy

Maybe they were Wingmasters or some other more expensive version.

1 was a Wingmaster which I would have bought had the wait not of been near 2-4 hour's by the look's of the ticket number's,the other Remington's were plain old 870's,the Wingmaster was still there at noon, okay gun with a full 30 inch non ribbed barrel.

I was actually looking at that Remington 760. Pretty cool looking, I had never handled one before. Still debating that one.

The wingmaster was still there at 4. There was something that looked like five spiders in the barrel and a bunch of nests in the shoulder pad.

I went to the first one of these sales a few years ago, somehow I was like 20 back in line at 10:30 when I got off work. I still got some great deals and had the BEST time ever as far as getting some good deals on some nice pistols and a rifle. Yeah, it was not easy getting checked out with background checks and waiting to pay, but it was still worth it.
How about doing a month long sale? don't put everything out at once, but surprise the dedicated shoppers to some mind blowing sale items a few at a time, sell some and then put some more out a little by little?

For the guys looking at the enfields, the gun I returned to the table was a 1943 Enfield No1 Mk3, bubba'd to hell and back, didn't have a magazine, or a recoil pad on the sportster stock.
Oh wow. That would be why I didn't see it when I got there at 10:30. But I suppose my patience paid off, since I managed to walk home with it, at 1 or so. :yesnod: Even though it's in such a shape, it'll make for a good project gun.

And the problem with letting in a limited number of people, I saw, is that some were buying 5-6 guns, and would probably snipe the really good deals. They also probably needed multiple forms filled out, that's probably why they were taking so long.

Was interesting though, managed to make lots of small talk with like-minded people.

But isn't this the point of "the early bird gets the worm"?.
If one is to wait in line for 4 hours prior to opening shouldn't they be able to purchase all the guns they waited for?

With my job there was no way I could wait in for 4 hours to get in,then wait more hours to get to the counter, then wait again for the background check all to get a so-so firearm and end up loosing money not being at work.No thank's

Did they offer free shuttle service to off-premise parking lots? I know their lot can get full just on regular days.
